This course is a Basic/Low Intermediate level of the series NorthStar, an innovative five-level,
integrated skills series for learners of English as a Second or Foreign Language. It introduces the
students to new structures in a variety of cons. It also provides the students with stimulating
topics for the readings that are varied in tone and up-to-date.
Course Objective:
Upon completion of the course, the students will understand both form and content of the language
at the lower intermediate level. They will be able to identify grammatically correct structures in
natural cons. Also, they will be able to recognize both form and meaning of new structures that
are provided in numerous and varied exercises. In addition, the students will acquire the linguistic
competence to explore sophisticated themes and reinforce vocabulary.
