ملاحظة مهمة : في اختبار الادب لايريد اجابة تعتمد على المعلومات العامة وانما يريد انطباعك الخاص عن هذا الموضوع من خلال قرأتك للرواية بمعنى لو كتبت احسن مقارنة بين الثقافتين الاوربية والامريكية ولم تكن مرتبطة بالكتاب وبشخصيات الرواية لا تعتبر صحيحة.

The story of Daisy Miller concerns the contrast between American and European societies in the second half of nineteenth century. The story is focused basically on about the effects of social status on characters of the story. The most crucial characters of the story are Daisy Miller, Winterbourne, and Mr. Giovanelli. These characters have extremely different characteristics. Because controversy appears between their cultures in the story, especially between Winterbourne and Daisy Miller. In the story, Winterbourne represents the European culture; he comes from a certain family and Daisy Miller represents the American culture whose father is different social scale and culture. We can understand the issue about the difference between Daisy's and Winterbourne's social situation and culture better, if we observe both these characters. Daisy Miller, who is the heroin of the story, depicted as a young and beautiful American girl in the story. She is enchanting, forthright, independent and strong-minded. She refuses the norms of European society. She is very rich. She is not interested in the ethnic of her country. Winterbourne shows readers what European culture is: civility, gallantry and apparent gap among social status etc. Winterbourne's sophisticated manners contrast with Daisy's relatively poor education, innocence and crudity. Therefore, the way Winterbourne's aunt criticizes about Daisy's vulgarity symbolically indicates European high-minded pride over fledgling American culture
