1/ intransitive verb: it divides into 2 kinds
The first kind has this pattern

s+v
Ex. Mary is smiling
Mary is a subject
Is smiling : these two words are verb phrase consists of Axillary+ main verb

The second kind of intransitive verb has this pattern

VP=> V + PP or Advp or NP
Ex. She is in London

She is a subject
is=> Main verb
In London => PP

The function in this sentence is AC = Adverbial complement
because the PP refers to place

2/ Transitive + Adverbial Complement

Consists of :
VP=> V + NP (it obligatory) + either PP or AdvP
Ex. He put the money in the box

He => Subject
Put=> Verb
The money=> Np
In the box => PP

The function of NP is Od= Direct object
The function of PP is Ac = Adverbial complement
