1- التحليل: اختبار الخليط لمعرفه العلاقه بين الخليط ومكوناته
2- التعرف(الكشف):تحديد هوية الخليط وذلك قائم على مواد معروفه
3- التنقية:لفصل المكونات او عزل احدها لدراستها اكثر
4- التقدير الكمي:لتحديد كمية الخليط او المكونات الموجوده في العينه
