The Kraken Analysis

If we break up this poem:

First he is talking about the location of the kraken then he talks about the situation (what is he doing) then he reverse to prehistorical area and all this is documented in the poem. Later he is telling you about the activity (is he active or not). Then he goes on to talk about the apocalyptic event (doomsday) that is going to overwhelmed all the world. .

-What we mean by its habitation?

We are made aware in the first 2 line about the habitat of this creature

Below- deep- Far, far- beneath- abysmal all these words stress the remoteness of this creature.

-Then he uses alliteration to describe its sleep

Like sleepeth- sunlights- shadowy sides- swell- sponges all these words accentuate the silence that surround it and reflects the sleeping state.
-Then it establishes the prehistorical of this ancient sleeper by the accumulating.

What is accumulating around The Kraken?

There are sponges and corals all are accumulating around him and he says " of millennial growth and height" over his body.
* He shows the prehistorical of this ancient creature by the accumulation of the huge sponges growth around him.
-Now we come to the forth thing which is activity" The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee, From many a wondrous grot and secret cell[around him]" " Unnumber'd and enormous polypi" polypi is like fungus it is growing and they have " Winnow with giant arms" this signifies that this creature is still not moving and other things are enlarging him. *It is a living creature but it's not moving we know that by his growing by eating" There hath he lain for ages and will lie, Battening upon huge seaworms in his sleep"He is battening upon his eating huge seawormsand this is how he is growing.-He introduces the end of this world which is the doomsday " Until the latter fire shall heat the deep" the fire hear is the sun and he draws this from the biblical apocalypse and that is the sun will heat the earth and sea."Then once by man and angels to be seen" everyone will be called upon (man and angels), so this is the doomsday.
*the sun will heat the deep and all will be called upon.
This creature will viewed by everyone (man and angels).Finally, Tennyson in his poem, want to say that the Kraken existence becomes meaningful only when it rises up even if that means that he is going to die or vanish. >the message of the poem
