Kindi is famous as the " philosopher of the Arabs " . Though not a translator himself, he was the first man to use Aristotle's work to creat an islamic, Arabic-language philosophical discourse. He is said to have written well over two hu dred works, though many of them were no doubt just short pamphlets.
