قواعد هامة جداً للتفريق بين الصفات والأحوال:
Rule 1
Generally, if a word answers the question how, it is an adverb. If it can have an -ly added to it, place it there.
بشكل عام، إذا كانت الكلمة تُجيب عن السؤال ( كيف how ) فإنها تُعتبر حالاً.
Examples:
(A 1)
She thinks slow/slowly.
She thinks how?slowly.
But in this example:
(A 2)
She is a slow/slowly thinker.
Slow does not answer how, so no -ly is attached. Slow is an adjective here.
لكن في المثال (2) كلمة Slow لاتُجيبنا عن السؤال ( كيفَ how ) ، إذن فهي صفة .
(A 3)
She thinks fast/fastly.
Fast answers the question how, so it is an adverb. But fast never has an -ly attached to it.
كلمة Fast في المثال (3) تُجيب عن السؤال (كيفَ how ) ، إذن فهي حال لكن كلمة Fast لايُضاف لها –ly ابداً. فهي من الكلمات الشاذة .. وإليك قائمة بالكلمات التي لها حالة شاذة.
good>> well
low>> low
fast>> fast
straight>> straight
hard>> hard
extra>> extra
long>> long
doubtless>> doubtless
(A 4)
We performed bad/badly.
Badly describes how we performed.
كلمة Badlyهنا تصف ( كيف لعبنا أو أدينا how we performed )
"لقد لعبنا بشكل سيء"
