Rule 3

The word good is an adjective, while well is an adverb.
كلمة good صفة بينما well تعتبر حال.

Examples:

You did a good job.
Good describes the job.

كلمة Good هنا تصف العمل.
"لقد أديت عملاً جيداً"

(C 2)

You did the job well.
Well answers how.
كلمة well هنا تُجيبنا عن السؤال كيفَ how
"لقد أديت العمل بشكلٍ جيد"


(C 3)
You smell good today.
Describes your odor, not how you smell with your nose, so follow with the adjective.

الفعل smell يأتي هنا في سياق معنوي، بمعنى: تبدو أو تظهر. لذا نستخدم Good
"أنت تبدو جيداً اليوم."

(C 4)
You smell well for someone with a cold.
You are actively smelling with a nose here, so follow with the adverb.

الفعل smell يأتي هنا في معناه الحقيقي، بمعنى: يشم(بإستخدام الأنف) لذا نستخدم Well
"إنك تشم بشكلٍ جيد بالنسبة لشخصٍ مصاب بالبرد."
