Saudi Traditional Food
Traditional food of a country plays a major role in its culture. Food is a part of culture of a nation. It also gives a sense of unity among the people of a nation. The Saudi Kingdom is well known for its variety of traditional dishes. They reflect the diversity of the regions and the custom of the people. Most of the dishes contain meat, rice, wheat and vegetables. There are many other popular dishes in the kingdom such as: Kabsa, Jarish, Saliq and Mathlutha.
One of Saudi Arabia's most famous dishes is al Al-Kabsa. It is made of rice d with red or white meat in a pot. A variety of spices and salads can be added to the dish to make it more delicious. Al-Kabsa is considered as a staple dish throughout the Kingdom. Jarish is another popular food eaten by the people in the kingdom. It is prepared by ng wheat with yoghurt or milk with spices. Saliq (lamb with milk and rice), is a simple bland dish and the best known dish of all other rice dishes among Saudi Arabian cusines. It's almost like a hot rice pudding. This dish is prepared by ng rice with chicken or meat then it is stirred well by adding milk into it and finally simmered for about an hour until it gets soft. Another popular meal is Mathlutha. it is d by mixing rice with Jarish. Mathlutha is usually served with red meat or with chicken and is d either by the method used for ng Al- Mathbi or Mandi.
In conclusion, Saudi Arabia is a country of different traditional food items and most of them may cause helth problems unless they are eaten wihtout care. As majority of our traditional foods are made of meat, the main source of fat, it is more likely to have different kinds of diseases.
