Grotesque why do you try to avoid slang words ,for me I like to know more about them especially when I participate in the international forums(I mean ,they have many people from different countries can participate in) ,I always see such these words or expressions ,and I wish to know what people mean by them ,I know it may not be useful in our studying but this is the truth , all people are used to use these words especially the ones who learn E only for communication ,they forget about standard language ,I have an idea ,write whatever you want with slang words and put their meaning between parenthesis ,it would be clear for those who don't know their meanings , so what do you think ?a

Greetings shatha and hail, I try to avoid slang cuz (because) in forums I try to write in a formal way cuz most of the time I’m all slang so I try to practice here while I can and regarding your idea, I like it a lot and ur (you’re) right everyone uses slang and I would love to help so ill start with some phrases that I know atm (at the moment) and will keep on writing everyday when I remember sumthin (something) but for now this is what I recall. I hope it’s what ur lookin (looking) for. If it is, notify me so I can put more effort into it and write more thanx (thanks) and God bless u

Slang phrases

Sally “A female's period”

-Sally came to visit me last night. It pissed me off.

Bug “sick”

-I had a 24 bug last night

( I was sick lastnight)

Pissed me off “got me angry”

-Stop shouting!!! Ur pissin me off!!

(Stop shouting!! You’re getting me angry)

Salt ”to tell a different lie when covering up something”

-I lied to my boyfriend and said my friend and I were going to the movies. She tried to salt me up and say we were going to the library.

Sassy “styling” “retro” “nice”

-Those clothes are sassy!

-Your lookin sassy today!

bejibbers out ofor crap out of“ to scare someone extremely bad”

-He scared the bejibbers out of me!

-She scared the crap out of him!

Ace “very good, trusted friend, top number one, money”

-Derek used to be my number one ace until he tried to take my girl.

-That gmase is ace!

-loan me an ace. (money)

Aight “ok, all right, yes”

-Come on man, everything's gonna be aight!

-That movie was aight, but I liked the other one better.

Ain’t or Aint “not, am not, are not, do not, have not, will not”

-Ain't nothing like that I ain't seen before.

There is nothing like that I have not seen before)

-He ain't got no money (He does not have any money)

-I ain't seen him since last year (I have not seen him since last year)

-She ain't going to school today (She is not going to school today)

Airhead or dim-wit “stupid or unaware person”

-He's confused again. What an airhead!

-That dude keeps on making the same mistakes, he is a typical airhead

Great job Grotesque ,you were right when you tried not to use it , in fact they would be very hard if you
don't put their meanings and some examples to be more clear ,any way thanks a lot and keep going on ,otherwise you have a right to practice the formal way because our studying requires that ,so I don't want to be obstacle in your way by asking you to write in slang way ,therefore I hope to practice more in a formal way and you can put slang word only as a lesson for those who want to benefit ,it's just like what you did ,I know I am talkative ,never mind ,regarding what I told you before about syntax ,I mentioned that syntax may be a little bit confusing ,however I hope that it will not be so for you ,for me I am interested in linguistics' branches as a result when I took syntax I felt okay (by virtue of Allah) ,it's just fun especially when you analyze the tree ,so don't worry about it ,you will see inshaa Allah. Damn straight, Right on “approval, excitement, or support”

-someone is telling u a story and ull say Damn strait! or right on!

-She's making hardcore money at her new job.

-He's a hardcore guitarist

Killer “very good, excellent, impressive”

-That was killer dude!

Break camp “hurry”

-Come on, guys, break camp!

Take a chill pill “relax”

-He needs to take a chill pill.

Pulling you leg “joking” or “teasing”

Chick “Girl”

-Damn, look at that chick she is tall!

This word is used a lot between guys and girls find it disrespectful

Just like here guys use stupid words to describe girls “mozza” and tbh (to be honest) I hate that word IDIOTS

And the magnificence of the sky.



Find out what we must not do,

Greetings Shatha and hail, I sincerely apologize for the late reply, I know how it feels to w8 I had sum connection problems and was without internet since my last participation which made me feel distant and disconnected from the world!! It made me think how I can’t manage without it, weird eh? I read ur poem and I must say it’s very nice do u know who wrote it? It’s just like they say it’s a master piece I liked it very much to the point where I printed it out. Please post more poems specially the ones that have to do with what goes around us like the poems I wrote, thanx again, may God bless u and give u strength.

By the way "typative" is not a correct word but people do use it and make up words to send the corect message or to make the reader know what they mean u wont find it in a dictionary thats for sure lol its just like Arabic people make up words 2
