The Clod and The Pebble …… by …William Blake

Q1 : Explain the above line by William Blake ,the Clod, a love of heart and emotion ?

He talks about two kinds of love .( his own understanding ) .
One is associated with Clod, a piece of clay ,this kind is emotional affect the heart and senses. It’s self giving ( selfess ) giving what they want, can be shaped the way you like , innocents .
The other kind Pebble , It’s selfish ,taken but doesn’t give ,associated with reason , mind and experience . It’s hard . Pebble build hell in heaven, that of clod builds heaven in hell .

? Q2 : What is the significance of the Poem

Poem. Blake tell him own philosophy of like that in our society Pebble vary some work according to heat and emotion , other work according to mind reason and experience.

The speaker in this Poem is Ulysses.
He is a king of a big country, fought many wars. Lived most of his life in the sea ,and now he is bored and his people ignored him .he decided finally to spend the rest of him life in the sea.

? Q2 : How Tennyson used Monologue in this Poem

Monologue means one person talking to audience in a Poem.
In the Poem Tennyson make Ulysses talk to the audience , speaking about his own like and troubles in the sea and how his people received him. This is done in a form of conversation.
